Heritage Fest 2009
Thanks to willing hands and great cooks, our yearly fund raiser was a huge success. Former Alderman David McCance, assisted
by Randy Dyess, our Supervisor, and Mayor Reed Houston, put a remarkable "smokin" on our chicken and Beverly Houston
made delectable baked beans. Danon Jones headed up a great crew of servers who kept it all moving.
Our thanks to "J." Bolles who manned the drink booths both Friday night and Saturday. He was joined by Amanda
Huff Friday night for the Gospel Sing with Arkin Terrell and Cornerstone. John Sabine ran sound and Pam Stovall produced
fluffy popcorn and good conversation.
Kathy Morgan, take a big bow! As always, you managed
to keep the Zellco stage alive with music and fun. On Saturday, Zellco also sponsored the Pretty Baby Contest with many
adorable Marion County little ones. Our beautiful park, groomed with precision for the event by our City, was punctuated
with color by the generous donation by Pioneer Aerospace of the perfect fall orange parachute fabric.
Our Historical Society table took on a professional look with interesting materials arranged by Chris Watts and a new banner
designed by Tony Weinedel, who is helping update many of the Society's public relations materials.
No event is ever a success without the help of each and every one that is there and
that lends a hand, however small, in adding to the day. Our thanks to all that work to make 2009 a success. ♥
